The Orphan Resource Detection feature in the EverythingCloud Platform helps identify unused or underutilized cloud resources that may be incurring unnecessary costs. These “orphaned” resources often occur when primary resources are deleted or no longer in use, leaving dependent resources (like unattached storage volumes, idle load balancers, or unused IP addresses) still running.
1 To view orphaned resources, navigate to Orphaned Summary and view the list

2 You can ignore any recommendation by clicking on Ignore;

Detailed Resource Management
Each category offers a detailed resource list with the following capabilities:
• Summary View:
• Displays key metrics for each resource type, such as total count, cost impact, and potential savings.
• Search / Filter:
• Locate specific resources using filters like tags, regions, or resource names.
• Narrow results to focus on the most relevant orphaned resources.
• Ignore Resources:
• Exclude resources from the orphan list if they are intentionally unattached or require manual management.
• Ignored resources are stored in the Ignored Orphans section for future reference.
• Export CSV:
• Export the detailed orphaned resource list for reporting, auditing, or offline analysis.
Ignored Orphans
• Resource Management:
• View all previously ignored resources, including Load Balancers, Volumes, AMIs, Snapshots, and Elastic IPs.
• Unignore any resource if it needs to be reconsidered for action.
• Tracking and Accountability:
• Maintain visibility over intentionally excluded resources to ensure accurate decision-making over time.
